The Silae integration lets you export your variable payroll items from Shyfter straight into Silae, with the right payroll codes in the right place. Hours worked, absences, bonuses and meals are prepared from your schedules and time clock data, so nobody retypes them.
At the end of every month, someone has to turn schedules, clock-ins and absences into the lines a payroll software can read. When that is done by hand, it takes hours and errors creep in. This page explains what the Silae integration does, which data it exports and how to set it up, step by step.
What Silae is and who uses it
Silae is a payroll software used by accounting firms and companies in France. Payroll managers use it to calculate pay slips each month, based on the variable payroll items (in French, "éléments variables de paie", or EVP) that the employer provides.
The Silae integration is meant for companies that employ staff in France. It is available for French Shyfter accounts.
Why connect Silae to Shyfter
Variable payroll items change every month: overtime, sick leave, paid leave, meals, a new starter, a departure. They all come from the field, and they usually reach the payroll manager as a spreadsheet or an email. Each transfer is a chance to make a mistake.
With Shyfter and Silae connected:
- hours worked and absences come from the schedules and the time tracking data you already validate;
- each item is exported with the Silae payroll code of your own file;
- the file is ready to import, with no retyping on either side;
- you can re-export a month if something changes, without creating duplicates.
How the Silae integration works
Shyfter generates the file of variable payroll items to import into Silae. Data flows from Shyfter to Silae, once per payroll period, when you export it.
The file contains:
- hours worked;
- absences;
- bonuses;
- meals;
- hires and departures.
Each item is linked to its payroll code in Silae. These codes are specific to each Silae file, so you enter them once in Shyfter. For each item, you also choose the granularity of the lines in the file:
- monthly: one line for the month;
- one line per day;
- one line per continuous range: consecutive days grouped into one line.
A code left empty is not exported. The file is built from the month's validated data in the payroll report of Shyfter, which you can also review in the reports.
Set up Silae in Shyfter, step by step
- Install Silae. Go to Settings, Integrations, Payroll and install Silae. It is available for French accounts, and only one payroll module can be active at a time.
- Add the Silae number of each employee. On each employee, in the External payroll partner block, select Silae and enter the employee's Silae number (matricule).
- Enter your Silae codes. Go to Settings, HR, Silae codes. Enter the Silae code of each payroll item (you find them in Silae under Saisie des éléments variables) and choose the granularity: monthly, one line per day or one line per continuous range.
- Export the month. Go to Reports, Payroll report, open the month, then Export, Silae. The file downloads to your computer.
- Import it into Silae. In Silae, open Traitement du mois, then Import de données variables, and import the file.
If something changes after the export, export the month again. Silae replaces the previous data for the same employees and the same period.
Use cases by industry
Restaurants and bars
In restaurants and bars, meals, split shifts and extra hours make the monthly payroll heavy. Exporting meals and hours worked with their own Silae codes saves the payroll manager from rebuilding them line by line.
Retail
Retail teams combine full-time staff, part-time staff and seasonal hires. Hires and departures are exported with the rest of the month, so the payroll file reflects every movement in the team.
From the field to the pay slip
The Silae export is the last step of payroll preparation in Shyfter: schedules, clock-ins and absences validated during the month become a file your payroll software can read. To see the full flow on your own setup, request a demo.
