Since January 2021, Rambo has brought the authentic L.A. smash burger recipe to Belgium: Black Angus beef smashed perfectly on the griddle, melting American cheddar, onions, pickles, signature sauce, and a potato bun that’s toasted and buttered to make all the difference. As the country’s first concept 100% dedicated to the smash burger, Rambo now has 4 active restaurants across Flanders, Wallonia, and Brussels, with a team of around 200 people in total.
Jordan (head manager), Nadine (HR and accounting), and Francisco (operations) explain how Shyfter helps them manage this team on a daily basis—and spend more time on the floor and less on paperwork.
In a multi-site group like Rambo, managing costs and personnel involves a mountain of recurring administrative tasks. Dimona, contracts, communication with the payroll office… These were all steps that used to eat up the HR team's time:
"One of my roles is to manage our costs and restaurant performance. These depend heavily on everything related to the team and performance, especially staff costs. Dimona used to take up a huge amount of time: you had to go to the payroll office website, it was a real hassle." — Nadine
With Shyfter, everything is now automated:
"We’ve just switched to full automation. So, automatic Dimona, automatic contracts—it’s fantastic." — Nadine
The result: declarations are sent automatically, contracts are generated in a few clicks, and data is sent directly to the payroll office. It’s a valuable time-saver for someone juggling HR and accounting across 4 locations.
On the operations side, the challenge is different: you need to build schedules that hold up over several weeks for a team largely made up of students and flexi-jobbers. This is where creating schedule templates makes all the difference:
"What I like most about Shyfter is creating templates. It allows us to plan the team in advance for the coming weeks and get a global view over a month." — Francisco
No more flying blind: at a glance, managers can see their entire month, anticipate needs, and make adjustments at the right time.
For Francisco, the real revolution is the before-and-after. Before Shyfter, every operation was done by hand in a patchwork of Excel files:
"Before Shyfter, I had to manually calculate all the data I had available on my computer. Today, most things are done automatically. It allows us to focus more on action plans and field operations." — Francisco
For the students, adoption is even simpler:
"I had everything in files on my computer, and it all had to be gathered in one place. The Shyfter Staff appis simple to use, both for them and for us—especially for them. They get alerts for their shifts a day in advance. So everything is seamless." — Francisco
And Nadine confirms from a management perspective:
"It's easy to understand, for me as well as for the staff, and it makes control easier. Everything is intuitive." — Nadine
When asked to sum up Shyfter in a single word, everyone has their own answer—and together, these answers paint an accurate picture of what the tool brings them:
"Automation." — Jordan
"Time-saving." — Nadine
"Fast, efficient, simple." — Francisco
